What are the system requirements for Script Debugger 8?
Script Debugger 8 requires macOS X 10.14 (Mojave) or later. Script Debugger 8 fully supports macOS X 14 (Sonoma) and runs natively on Apple Silicon and Intel macs.
I purchased Script Debugger 7 shortly before Script Debugger 8 was released, do I have to pay for Script Debugger 8?
If you purchased Script Debugger 7 after October 18, 2020 you are entitled to a free upgrade to Script Debugger 8. Enter your eligable Script Debugger 7 registration number into the upgrade form above to obtain your free copy of Script Debugger 8. Do you offer an educational discount?
Yes. Students and staff of a degree-granting institution are eligible to receive a 20% discount on the purchase of new Script Debugger 8 licenses. We do not offer additional educational discounts on upgrades from previous versions of Script Debugger. To receive your educational discount coupon code please send proof of association with an educational institution (an image of your student ID will suffice) to sales@latenightsw.com.
I’m not sure if I’m ready to purchase Script Debugger. Do you offer a free trial?
Yes. Visit the Download page to get the latest version of Script Debugger. Script Debugger is fully functional for the first 20 days. After the trial ends, you are welcome to continue using Script Debugger in “Lite” mode with some of its advanced features disabled. You can upgrade to the full version at any time.
Script Debugger’s “Lite” mode is absolutely free of charge. It contains all the basic editing and library functions that you need to write your code. Even without Script Debugger’s advanced features, it represents a significant improvement over the Script Editor that comes with macOS. We see Script Debugger “Lite” as simply the best free option available for working with AppleScript.
Is this a subscription
No. Once you purchase a Script Debugger license you can continue using it for as long as you like. It is entirely up to you if you want to upgrade to a newer version in the future.
Does my license qualify me for free updates?
Yes. You will receive free maintenance releases (“third dot” e.g. 8.0.1) as long as Script Debugger 8.0 remains the current version of Script Debugger. Any new major releases (e.g. version 9.0 when you own 8.0) would not be included.
Is it possible to purchase Script Debugger 6? I require a version of Script Debugger that runs on Yosemite.
